These are heresies guaranteed to infuriate conservative university-based historians and archaeologists. However, I have not written this book for their approval. Rather I prefer to present my evidence to the average Australian reader so that they may draw their own conclusions.
It may be difficult for many fellow amateur researchers of our ancient past to accept the proposition that Australia was once the home of an advanced stone-age civilisation, the ‘mother’ civilisation itself. This is understandable when we consider the mass of overseas [mostly American] books that continue to flood our bookshops on such marvels as the cyclopean structures of Tiahuanaco, Easter Island, Europe’s megalithic stone monuments and the pyramids of Egypt.
No sooner is one book on these mysteries sold out than it is replaced by another, repeating the same old information, the only change being the re-arrangement of the order of chapters and photographs. And to add to the boredom more books continue to appear on Atlantis and Lemuria, as if the seemingly thousands of titles already published on these sunken lands were still not enough!!
What particularly annoys me about this literature is that, with few exceptions, there is no mention of the many startling archaeological finds made in Australia, and when Australia is mentioned, it is only in passing, usually a small paragraph dismissing our land as having nothing to offer researchers of ancient and ‘lost’ civilisations.
The time has come to stop the ‘cultural cringe’ to other lands and investigate the limitless mysteries to be found right here in our own country. With the publication of “Mysterious Australia”, “Pyramids in the Pacific”, “Giants From the Dreamtime - the Yowie in Myth and Reality”, “Australian UFOs – Through the Window of Time” and now “Uru, the Lost Civilisation of Australia” I have, I believe, done much to correct this imbalance.
